This video explains learning theory, the processes through which horses learn, and how we can apply that to solve everyday problems or improve performance.  It then follows the story of Gavin and his owner Hannah as they explain how Dr Pearson helped them with several challenges they faced together.

Dr Pearson recorded a series of short lectures for Pony Club UK.

The first few lectures cover equine welfare and the concept of social licence to operate

The rest of the lecture series then focuses on equine behaviour, with an emphasis on exploring learning theory in more depth

This series can be accessed via the below link

This interview was filmed at the ISES conference in Colorado 2025. Dr Gemma Pearson provides a summary of her plenary lecture, given the day before, explaining why it is not helpful to ask if a problematic behaviour is due to pain or is a primary behavioural issue

The full lecture can be watched by finding the 2025 conference recordings and buying supporter membership from the ISES for only £20

In this YouTube playlist, created by the British Equine Veterinary Association Dr Pearson demonstrates how to quickly solve some common problematic behaviours including horses that are needle shy, clipper shy, ear shy, or can be difficult to handle when led
